More than just the food you eat!
The Centre for Sustainable Food Systems at UBC farm introduces FarmWonders Summer Camp: an innovative, educational and fun summer day camp for children ages 6 to 11. FarmWonders is a student-run community education initiative committed to promoting environmental awareness through science-based farm learning. We aim to offer a unique experience that allows children to explore the wonders of science at the farm and discover the mysteries of the food that they eat.

Project Chef
Cook Healhty Edible Food is an experiential, curriculum-based school program aimed at children in grades four and five that teaches students about healthy food: where it comes from, what it tastes like, how to prepare it and how to enjoy sharing it around a table.

The Growing Schools Program is one of LifeCycles' many projects that educates about food security, urban agriculture, the environment, community development and health through the creation of an organic food garden on the school grounds. Our program has a solid reputation of working in partnership with schools and the District Facilities Department to implement long-term garden projects. Our vision is a garden in every school. Our Program offers an inspiration and a successful model for schools to implement gardens on the school grounds to use as an out-door classroom.

Aldor Acres Ltd. - Langley
An award-winning farm in the Fraser Valley, long-time Langley farm people, the Anderson Family at Aldor Acres offers the real hands-on farm experience. Easter, Fall/Pumpkin Harvest, and Christmas all have set times as noted below, however, we offer much more. A dairy farm education tour, company gatherings, school/group excursions, birthday parties, short-term farmstays, mobile farm animal displays (petting zoo) - you name it and we will help you with your arrangements. Throughout the year, and when available, we have farm eggs, apples, beef, lamb, and pork. From farm animals to where milk comes from to Christmas trees to haywagon rides to fun, we have it all. And of course, Big Bob and Peter the Great will be there to greet you along with our two big white oxen, Zorro and Zeldo. Call the main farm number and we will direct you to the appropriate farm division.
Set time openings are Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday from, 10 am to 4 pm. Fall festivities/ Pumpkin sales from Sunday, September 26, 2004 to October 31 from 9 am to 5 pm and Christmas tree U-cut tree sales 2 weekends only December 4/5 and December 11/12. Christmas tree sales will be accessed at 8249-252nd street. Follow the Aldor Acres signs. We can be open all year by reservation only group tours or parties, international and bus tours, dairy barn tours, and family events. Open rain or shine!

The Apple Barn Pumpkin Farm Ltd - Abbotsford
Exciting fall festivities and good old-fashioned fun await you at the Apple Barn. Enjoy U-pick apples, farm animals, hay rides, pony rides, hay maze, castle maze, orchard tours, and concession on weekends from September 11 to October 31. Pumpkins by the thousands can be picked from the patch all October. Our unique on-farm store, open daily in the fall, offers fresh apples, pasteurized apple cider, apple & pumpkin pies, honey, preserves, pickles, and other apple-related products. Educational farm tours focusing on apples and pumpkins are given in the Fall. (Gotta love that!) We also offer fresh Okanagan fruits for your convenience. Come see us in the fall for specialty pears, and book one of our fun-filled pumpkin tours! During the hot, sunny month of June, we will be open at 8 am for U-pick. We are located 2.5 km off highway #1 exit # 104, on the way to Cultus Lake.

Greenhill Acres - Chilliwack
A unique farm tucked in the hills of Chilliwack overlooking Cultus Lake. Come visit a Brahma herd and play at the Hillbilly Hilton. All the farm animals in their true working habitat. For sale in the “woodshed country store”: lavender, jams, jellies, pickles, preserves, beef, wild boar, crafts, garlic, honey, art. The blacksmith shop is available for demos and sales. The picnic tables are out and the antique tractors ready for hay rides. Greenhill Acres has an Easter basket hunt in Spring and showcases BC's biggest pumpkin cannon, “Pete” during harvest in Fall. Krause Berry Farms - Aldergrove
Summer begins with the luscious taste of strawberries that have drawn loyal customers out to our farm for more than 30 years. We have been working hard to ensure the best berries in the valley. Come enjoy a morning, afternoon or evening picking your own beautiful fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries (in season). You can also buy all your berries freshly picked, the best sweet corn, freshly dug potatoes and our fantastic Krause artichokes. Freshly baked berry pies sell out daily, call ahead and we will reserve one for you! Our berry season extends into the fall including specialty squash, decorative gourds and pumpkin pies. Meadows Maze/Cranberry Meadows Country Market - Pitt Meadows
For four years we have offered two interactive mazes in our 17-acre field of corn. Using GPS to map out the mazes makes them pieces of art and very challenging to solve. See our famous Lions "Goat" Bridge, the Bee Observatory, creamiest ice cream and homemade fudge. With four generations of farming experience, we are able to offer our customers the unique experience of observing how farm produce is grown and harvested. Walk on pathways throughout our garden and pick your own ingredients for dinner, or let us do the work. In Spring, we sell herb plants, bedding plants, and handmade rustic planter boxes. In June U-pick strawberries are ready. Throughout the summer we have a variety of organic herbs and veggies (artichokes, vine-ripened tomatoes, carrots, etc.). Don't leave before cutting a bouquet of flowers. Come Fall, our home preserves are ready (jellies, honey, vinegars) as well as a selection of soaps, dried flowers and other gift ideas. Choose your Jack-O'Lanterns from hundreds on display (over 15 different varieties), or venture out into the patch. Two weeks prior to Halloween, we have 150 pumpkins carved and lit nightly for your viewing pleasure. Look forward to seeing you throughout the different seasons. We are on the way to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary.

Family-owned and operated since 1960, Willow View Farms offers a variety of our own fresh fruits and vegetables direct from the farm. We begin in July with raspberries, blackberries, saskatoons and rhubarb. Sept 1st our country store opens for fall sales. We offer a wide variety of fresh homegrown produce. Bring the family out to U-Pick apples, plums, corn and later on pumpkins. Our Apple Daze festivals take place on Saturday September 18th and 25th and our Pumpkin Daze festivals are every Saturday from 9 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 5:30 pm in October. Enjoy petting barn, hayloft maze, bin maze, hayrides and more. Indian corn, gourds, squash, potatoes and fresh pasteurized apple juice are also available.
